It’s Reigning Huf
Saturday, April 12, 2008 | Author: Jon LedfordHuf and Reigning Champ have joined forces on an impeccable henley sweater. While Huf is more well known for their graphic output and New Era releases, their cut and sew pieces are very much in line with the clean designs and eye for quality that Reigning Champ is built around. Check out detailed pictures of the construction and the matching hats after the jump.

Just in! So I was writing this article up and just happened to glance at Huf’s blog over at Honeyee. Looks like there’s some five panel hats to be released in conjunction with the sweaters. They don’t appear to be a collaboration with Reigning Champ but are dope all the same. Not really sure I’d wear the two together, but both pieces stand up on their own.

The sweater is made using a very comfortable French terry cloth, making it perfect for the fluctuating Bay Area weather at Huf HQ. As usual with all Reigning Champ garments, the seams on this piece are exposed, creating a unique look without a lot of bells and whistles.

Coming in two great summer colorways – green and blue (yeah, it looks black, but trust me, it’s blue) this is the type of shirt that will last from season to season. It’s a great layer in cold weather or can easily be worn as a top on it’s own. I’d really like to see Huf continue to create stuff along these lines. Clever tee shirts and bright colors are great, but there’s a time and a place where a nice sweater is simply a better fit.

The sweater and hat will both be available this Saturday at the Huf shop on Sutter. If you’re not in the area, they will typically take phone orders, but don’t quote me on this, as it’s entirely possible they’ll want to give the locals first dibs. Haven has received their shipment as well, but sizes are going fast, so hit them up or check your local Huf distributor if you’re lucky enough to have one in your area.
