I am 8-Bit, the godfather of the themed pop culture art show, is back for a fourth time this year. The show is predicatbly centered around the classic video game experience with pieces like the one above from Thorsten Hasenkamm. The show also features familiar names like Joe Ledbetter, Amanda Visell, Bigfoot, Luke Chueh, Suckadelic, and Angry Woebots, among over a hundred other artists. Even if you’re not familiar with the artists themselves, you’re definitely going to be aware of their inspiration, which makes this a must see show. Check out the details below.

This Scott Belcastro piece is a perfect example of capturing a moment that anyone familiar with The Legend of Zelda will immediately recognize. Link looking up towards the monstrous Ganon will forever be etched in my mind and this depicts that encounter in a way that the NES just wasn’t ready for at the time.

The I am 8-Bit show opens at World of Wonder Storefront Gallery in Hollywood on Thursday August 14 at 8 PM. The show will run until September 7.
