Greedy Genius and Japanese Photographer Yone have collaborated on a pair of these Cool Breeze’s. As you can see the sneaker features graphic prints of Yone’s photography which brings a innovative drive to execute the look of the shoe. Former club bouncer and Los Angeles native Estevan Oriol got his start in the entertainment business managing tours for huge artists like “House of Pain” and “Cypress Hill” almost 20 years ago. While globe trotting with them he began his photography career taking flicks of the madness and glitter that surrounds international celebrities. When he was back home in L.A though, it was a much different story. He took his cues from the street life surrounding him. The singular dramatic black and white photos he produces are gripping, beautiful, and authentically menacing portraits of individuals fully immersed in L.A gang lifestyle. Blessed with a talented eye and a hood pass, he takes pictures in places armed with a camera where most tough guys would take a weapon. Offered for the first time to the public for free, in this exclusive interview from The Run Up, Estevan Oriol expresses his thoughts, methods, and views on approaching everyday with the hunger of a hustler who doesn’t know where his next meal will come from. This February Estevan Oriol brings his photographic retrospective to SURU entitled, “This is Los Angeles.” Along with limited edition photographic prints of some of his most recognizable works, a collaboration T-shirt will be released with SURU. The show will run from Feb. 1st through the 28th. Check out the tee and the flyer after the jump.
The Last Laugh will play host to the Vans x Estevan Oriol ICONoclast Photo Exhibit on Thursday, December 11th from 7PM – 10PM. This exhibit will be in conjunction with the Los Angeles Downtown Art Walk. Each of the ICONoclasts were invited which include Henry Rollins, Lemmy from Motorhead, Robert Williams, Wes Humpston, John Cardiel, Joel Tudor, and Sarah from Colette. Food, music, and drinks will be provided and a silent auction will be held in which the proceeds will go to help Skid Row’s Midnight Mission.
Today Crooks and Castles just put up the look book for their 2008 Holiday Collection. The look book consists their newest collection and the theme is on “Persona Of A Crook” in conjunction with new Online Magazine “Persona”. Persona Magazine fills the void between street couture and modern, high-fashion. As we introduced you to Create Build Destroy this past summer, they have returned with a much stronger collection for this Winter. The Winter Collection, ‘In Search of Greener Pastures‘ which focuses around their mission to constantly push the envelope with fashion, the industry and how they fit into the whole mix. They did a limited amount of tees, crewneck sweatshirts, brought back the V-neck pocket tees, and ventured into the world of New Eras.
